More Waiting for Benz Diesels

The Volkswagen Diesel scandal has tightened regulations and testing on all imported cars to the United States and BMW is the first of the manufacturers to get through the new regulations process. Good news for BMW fans, but for anyone who wanted a 2017 Diesel Benz is likely going to wait until mid 2017 for the 2018 models.

The EPA has now officially approved all of BMW’s 2017 turbodiesel models for sale here following a delay attributed to additional evaluation being performed in order to certify their compliance with U.S. emissions regulations.

The extra scrutiny, which resulted from Volkswagen’s high-profile diesel emissions scandal, has impacted all automakers with diesel offerings in their lineup.

In the case of BMW, those models include the 2017 328d Sedan, 328d Sports Wagon, X3 xDrive28d SAV, and the X5 xDrive35d SAV. Approval of some final homologation details is expected shortly, at which point production will begin.

While all four vehicles are expected to be in dealers some time later this year, BMW hasn’t set a hard date on when that will happen. Continue Reading

Mercedes-Benz Concept for 2030 Le Mans Prints Its Own Tires

mercedes-benz-dtw-concept-is-a-2030-le-mans-winner--martin-chatelier

Awesome Mercedes Le Mans Concept

While the vehicle is simply just a design and we have yet to see such propositions in action, the Benz for 2030 Le Mans features some exotic features including the ability to custom print its tires to suit the surfaces it is driving on. The silver arrow is also capable of compressing air while driving, which it uses as its fuel source.

Well since your current Benz doesn’t run off of the air it drives through (yet), you should look into optimizing your fuel system. .

At first, it looks like it has absolutely zero in common with the Mercedes-Benz design language. That’s because the LMP cars usually have to play by the rules of aerodynamics, so they end up looking more or less the same, regardless of their manufacturer. However, since his proposal won’t actually have to take part in a race, he had a lot more freedom of expression, so he managed to squeeze in a few details seen on recent Mercedes-Benz concepts.

Take the “headlights,” for example. If they look familiar, it’s because this styling has been used on cars such as the F015 Luxury in Motion or, more recently, on the IAA Concept Car. Apart from that, though, take the three-pointed star away and this car could present itself with any other badge out there, no questions asked. Continue Reading

Here Comes the Much Awaited 2017 E-Class Benz

Mercedes-Benz-E300

2017 Mercedes Benz E-Class is a Winner

Fans of the Mercedes brand name should know that the E-class is the brand’s top selling model and as the frontrunner of the luxury car brand, we were wracked with anticipation to see the upcoming big reveal.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-class doesn’t disappoint, with the sleekest looking style of any E-class and enough features both optional and mainstay to get lost in for quite some time.

While your old Benz might not be able to compete with the new 2017’s array of features, click here and shop around for some accessories to spruce up your Benz.

Familiarity is part of the appeal of fast food franchises—you always know exactly what you’re going to get. Surprisingly, what works well for cheap burgers holds true for pricey luxury sedans. Drive almost any current Mercedes sedan—from the small C-Class to the lofty S-Class—and the same qualities of ride comfort, solidity, agility, and quietness shine through. Redesigned for 2017, the E-Class upholds family virtues while making some concessions to modern influences.

Mercedes-Benz has a lot on the line with this next-generation car, given that the E-Class is the brand’s top-selling sedan and the best seller in its class. Following its bookend siblings, the E-Class’ new styling is more curvaceous, losing some of the more rectilinear sharpness of its 2010-16 predecessor. Continue Reading

Mercedes-Benz Miracle in Declining Market

Mercedes-Benz Sales in July Beat Trends

With the current US market looking in a grim state for luxury cars, with slow economy and increased interest in SUVs and Trucks, one would be rather surprised to hear that Mercedes is reporting growth this year with record setting sales in the month of July, and a 3.6% increase since last year.

The brand’s line of vans is also doing well, especially with the new US based factory specialized in producing them. With more Mercedes on the roads, previous owners might want to stand out, and nothing says luxury like Mercedes’ top of the line interiors.

At a time when sales of vehicles in the U.S. have been slowing and consumers are favoring trucks and SUVs over sedans, Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz was able to buck the trend, posting an increase in sales during the month of July.

But it wasn’t because the vehicle maker slashed the prices on its luxury vehicles or unveiled a new suite of gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs. In fact Daimler attributes it to its move to roll out three more luxury sedans in recent months.

“We are continuing to see strong momentum build into the third quarter, fueled by the recent launch of three of our dream cars,” said Dietmar Exler, president and CEO of Mercedes-Bemz USA (MBUSA) in a press release announcing the sales results for July. Continue Reading

Getting Young Adults to Buy a Benz

The second biggest name in luxury automobiles has had some old troubles with marketing to younger audiences while still maintaining its prestige. Fortunately, more recently Mercedes-Benz has made some serious progress using social media influencers.

Taking the marketing out of their own hands and using sponsored popular social media personalities has been the perfect solution for maintaining the brand’s luxury image and expanding its market to younger consumers.

While you may not be the next sponsored video maker, you’ll want your Benz to look its best, so click here and get some sexy new rims.

One big challenge for most luxury brands today is how to appeal to a younger demographic without losing the extravagant feel of the brand. For Mercedes-Benz, that means creating compelling content on social — especially collaborating with influencers — to amplify what the brand is and why millennials need a Mercedes-Benz.

This year, Mercedes-Benz initiated a program called “MB Photo Pass” where it’s working with videographers, photographers and around 25 social media influencers like @loki_the_wolfdog across Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest and YouTube. Continue Reading

Mercedes Benz’s New Concept Electric Cars

The German auto-maker has finally revealed its plans for a new line of Mercedes-Benz cars that feature entirely new and unique models for their electric cars. Bloomberg reports that Mercedes is working on its own lineup of electric vehicles to take on BMW and Tesla, and the German automaker will introduce a sub-brand to market them under.

Mercedes is currently developing two electric SUVs and two sedans and at least one of those vehicles will debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show. Previously, Mercedes CEO Dieter Zetsche confirmed that an electric car would be unveiled in late September in Paris.

Up until now, Mercedes has outfitted existing models with electrified powertrains, unlike what BMW did with its i sub-brand, which is comprised of two entirely new models separate from the rest of the lineup. Continue Reading
